What is ascog castle?

Ascog Castle is a 15th-century tower house located in the village of Ascog on the Isle of Bute in Scotland. The castle was built by the noble family of Crawford and passed through several owners over the centuries, including the Marquess of Bute. The castle was abandoned in the 18th century and fell into ruins, but it was restored in the 20th century and is now a private residence. The castle features a round tower with a spiral staircase and a battlemented wall encircling the property. Visitors can view the castle from the outside but it is not open to the public. The castle is also believed to have some ghostly inhabitants, with sightings of a woman in white and a mysterious dog reported by visitors.
